Happy Flowers

I picked up some beautiful snapdragons to
place in the gorgeous jug that was a birthday gift.
They look so pretty sitting in my living room.
It is the small things that can make us happy.
I also have a card to share below.

I made this card with no one in mind to receive it.
I just felt like using the stamps i love.
I am really liking the white, grey and bright pink colour combo.

Happy Mail

I recently recieved some beautiful cards in the post
for my birthday. It's so nice to know
that you are thought of when you recieve
a card in the mail.
I had a fantastic birthday, the day went too quick.
Any day i spend with my family is great.

Denise sent me this card.
Fifth Avenue Floral has to be one of my favourite stamp sets.
Thank you Denise.

Nerida sent me the following card and
a clever, beautifully decorated box
with a chocolate inside.

It's so nice how the card and gift match perfectly.

I had time in the afternoon on my birthday to relax so i put
on one of my favourite movies, The Holiday and had some of
that yummy chocolate. Perfect.
Thank you Nerida.

This is a very special gift that my daughter made for me.
She made a patchwork throw for me in colours i like
and with a lovely soft material on the back.
I was delightfully surprised and i felt so grateful
that she spent the time to not only make the quilt but
to take the time buying the fabric and choosing the colours.
I am missing her alot today as it is her first day
at University and i have loved having her home
for the last three months. She rang me earlier
to tell me she had a blister on her foot from
walking all over the place, that broke my heart.
But she went and bought some new shoes so she
will be right till she gets home and i can tend to her foot.

Happy Bird-day

I made this card to go with a gift i have bought.
I will show you the whole gift when it gets closer
to the birthday. I embossed the bird cage for some
added texture and added some bling.
I have been de-cluttering this week.
It is messy pulling everything out of cupboards
and off shelfs but how good does it feel
when you can step back and see what a difference
it has made. But once you start it is hard to stop.
I have been told by my dear husband to leave
well enough alone until i have help with the
heavy things. But when your on a roll it's good to keep going.

Sweet Dots

I made this card for an acceptance to a
baby shower. I know my dear friend
is having a boy so a blue card it was.
I must dust off my cute baby stamps as
i have a few i will need to make this year.
I just can't wait to hold and cuddle the baby.

A New Stage For Us

Early last week we went with our daughter
to enrol in University. I felt like she was
starting school all over again. A new
school/campus, new friends, learning
where to go and what to do.
I felt unsure and uneasy on the day,
as i did when she started Kindergarten.
It doesn't matter how responsible and mature
you know your children are, i know i will
always be concerned for them.
The travelling on the train and having to change trains
and the long hours of commuting worries me too.
So that was my week and when i worry i like to keep
busy. So i have made a great start on cards
for upcoming events this year.
Some i cannot share until i have handed them out.
The card below i can share.
Have a great week.

A Special Anniversary

We recently celebrated my In-law's 40th wedding anniversary.
I used SU's flocked paper for the card.
I wanted a detailed card but not over the top.
We gave them a gift of a beautiful hand made
glass bowl from Poland.

A Different Colour Combo

I tend to lean toward a neutral colour scheme
with my craft projects. So with this card
i went and used colours i never use.
I used Stampin Up's Colour Coach.
The colour i chose was Bravo Burgundy
and using the colour coach i combined the
Sweet Set combo of colours.
I really like how the card turned out
and the colours are growing on me.

Love is in the Air

Valentines Day has hit this house hard.
This morning at 7.30 my husband took our son
to the florist. It was very sweet.
My son, a shy boy, organized with the florist
what he was after and how much he had to spend.
He bought red roses for his girl.
All this romance must have rubbed off on hubby
as i received a lovely red rose too.

I made a cake to celebrate.

I hung my clay hearts about.

My red rose.

I picked up these cool kraft envelopes from Kikki. K
They are a great size to decorate and fit a card in with a sweet
treats cup. I added a clay heart for decoration.

I threaded the ribbon around multiple hearts that
i placed on with dimensionals.

The Sun Is Out

The colours in this photo turned out terrible
and i was not going to post it but the lay out was really quick.
I love layers and textures but i kept this card very simple.
It really comes down to who you are making the card for.
If you know it's appreciated for the amount of work that can
go into a card i keep adding but when you know
the card will be appreciated but then thrown out
i step back. I still try to make a great effort.

I have so much washing on the line i am happy to see the sun.
I was caught in the down pour on Friday afternoon and
i was soaked to the skin but funny enough it made
me laugh and feel so alive. We try to keep our appearances
well kept but when caught out like i was and i was drenched
to the skin and there was nothing i could do about it
all i could do was laugh. My shoes got a good clean too.
Have a great Sunday afternoon.

Happy Birthday Friend

I used Stampin Up's Colour Coach to come up with this colour combo.
Perfect Plum, Marina Mist and Rose Red a creative combination.
I distressed the edges and sponged over the embossing.

I made two little pouches for some coffee and chocolates, what more
could a girl want. I made belly bands to go around the pouches
to add some texture and all keeping within the colour coach combo.

I wrapped the gift in some kraft paper, tied some twine
around and added one of my clay tags that i had embossed.

A Chic Canvas

My husband picked up this large canvas for me.
It has a really thick frame, it was used for
advertisement in Katies.
There was a picture printed on it and so my husband
painted over it a few times with white paint and i
went crazy with my stamps and inks.
I started off slow adding a bit here and there.
Half way through i didn't like it and wanted to paint over it
but i carried on and i like the end result.
There's a French feel, butterflies and flowers too.
It is hard to tell in these photos but the canvas is on the large side.
A nice piece of art for our home and when i get tired of it i can
just paint over it and start again.
Total cost $4.

Happy Birthday Nerida xxoo.

Valentines Treats

I don't celebrate Valentine's Day
but seeing we have a few teenagers
in the house it is being spoken about.
So the romantic in me decided to have
a go at making some cards.
I ended up making a couple of the same cards.
I thought the kids might think it's a bit weird
that Mum made the cards for them.
But i was delightfully surprised when they
really liked them, maybe because it saves
them a few dollars or the time looking for one.
But what ever the reason i am glad they will be used.

I played with Clay on this Grey Day

I picked up a tutorial here,
and what a better project could you want
on these rainy days we are having.
It was very therapeutic rolling and cutting the clay.
I used a rolling pin to roll some embossed designs
into the clay and i also used a few deep etched
rubber stamps to add some details.
When dried i added them to a pretty glass bowl
and now i have many Clay Tags to add to
objects and projects.
I have ideas for the heart clay tags for
Valentines Day, i will be back to show you.
