A New Kind of Bag

You all know how i love making the Becky Roberts
handbags well the other day i found a tutorial
for a new style of bag.
I found it here in the sidebar,
It only uses one piece of 12x12 cardstock,
another small piece, DSP and ribbon.
It is very cute and it opens out so you can
fit a gift inside. I can see myself making many
of these throughout the year.

The Same but Different Cards

I wanted to use the other butterfly i made out of chipboard
and i had a few spare butterflies laying around.
So i thought i would make two cards with the same
card stock and lay out but a little different.
I also added some Champagne Shimmer.
It didn't take me too much longer to make the
two cards and i felt like i had accomplished more.

Clear Embossed Butterflys

I had a different look in mind when i started to make this card.
I am still trying to decide if i like how it has turned out.
I love to emboss images but i think this stamp needs to be in
a black or chocolate ink to make the image stand out.
The embossing and the different colours are pretty
close up and it's another card to add to my stash for
when birthdays come around.

Luvin the Stampin Up Big Shot

I received a Stampin Up Big Shot off my dear friend
for the Christmas just passed. Before the Big Shot
i have been using my trusty Cuttlebug and for many,
many years have been very happy with my little green
bug, I didn't think i needed a Big Shot but boy, yes i did.
Since receiving the Big Shot i haven't wanted to cut into
the lovely new plates, yes there's that clean freak coming out.
But i had this rather thick piece of chipboard sitting on my desk,
just looking at me and i wondered what can i do with this scrap
piece of chipboard. Well i ran it through my Big Shot using the large
Butterfly die. It ran through smooth, didn't make a sound, I didn't
think it had cut, chipboard too thick i thought. But no it
cut so clean through the chipboard the butterfly just popped out.
I had to put another one through to check and yep same result.
I am a happy Big Shot convert.
I have had a go using a Big Shot in the past
and it is alot easier to roll through items but oh this baby does
have alot to offer. So onto the card i made with my Chipboard Butterfly.
I added lots of layers, ribbon, bling (of course) and that pretty,
chunky Butterfly. It really adds height and dimension.
I have another Butterfly to use too, my imagination is going wild.

Enjoy The Journey

I should be organizing back to school bits and pieces but seeing it is a
rainy afternoon i don't feel like much of that.
I have the afternoon and night all to myself so a
little self indulgence is in order.
Having the bathroom to myself with no interruptions will
be lush in itself. The possibilities are endless. Maybe
blog surfing, catch up on some mags that have been
there since Christmas, maybe even make a card with
my music up really loud and not being told turn down
that horrible "old" music. But i do know i will miss my
little tribe being around, yes, hopeless i am.
So onto the card. This card has been published in the
current Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft, Vol 18, No 1.
I was very pleased to see it in there. They have great
stylists and photographers that make the cards "pop".
I hope you all have a great Australia Day.

Kindness Matters

For such a small stamp set, Kindness Matters,
it has so much potential. I love all the
details that this set has. I knew it would be
a favourite when i first saw it.
I used Stampin Up's Colour Coach to help
me sort out my colours for this card.
Rich Razzelberry, Pretty in Pink and Early Espresso.
Have a great weekend.

Time for Tea

We have been celebrating late into last night and today,
our dear daughter was given an offer to her
first choice for University last night.
So so happy and proud.
We have a huge year ahead of us.
To start we will be settling dear daughter into Uni
and getting our heads around that we actually
have a child starting Uni, scary.
We have two 16th, an 18th and 40th Birthdays to celebrate.
I am off to my first Stamp Camp and
looks like little old me is off on a holiday, more on that later.
So i was laying in bed thinking of everything that has to be done.
But then i told myself with such a big year ahead take a deep breath
and breath. I told myself what i get done great and what i don't must
not be as important as i thought. So i will see how that thought goes, seeing
i am a neat freak and everything really does need to be in its place.
So i have started on some cards and gifts to ease my stress levels.

I made this Tea Dispenser. I struggled with the measurements
and tweaked it alot and gave up twice and
spent three and a half hours on it.
But when it was all finished i was a happy girl.
Will i make one again?
Maybe not but never say never, right!
I was inspired to make this from here,
Have a great Friday all.

Birthday Butterflys

I am pleased how this card turned out.
Working with a square card and placing the embossing
folders was a little tricky. I used Very Vanilla and Whisper White
cardstock and Baja Breeze ink for the sentiment.

A little embossing inside the card too.

Heart to Heart

Here is the card i made for my husband for our anniversary.
I wasn't sure about adding the bling but it needed it i think.
It is now sitting on our bedside table so i know it was appreciated.
I am adding this card to the Festive Friday Challenge
and i was inspired by Madonna Dunn's card.
I love all the little hearts.
I am going to try and enter a few more challenges
this year so i can get the most out of my supplies.

Pinks & Blues

The holidays are going way too fast. We have been having
a great break from school stuff. But saying that i haven't
had much time to sit down and create. Sometimes i think it is good
to have a break and catch up on other fun stuff.
We had a great weekend in Sydney last week.
We had fun spending Christmas money we were given
and trying all different sorts of foods.
I do have a card to share, very vintage, lots of elements and layers.
I was asked for a Birthday card the other day and realized how low
my stash has become so my goal is to make a bunch of cards
to have on hand. I hope to be back soon to show you these.
I also have the card i made for my sweet heart for our anniversary
which we are celebrating this week.

Happy 2012

Happy New Year.
I know it's a little late but that's what happens at this time of year
when the routine goes out the window. I have decided i do like routine
but it is nice to have a change but not for long.
Whatever bug i was struck down with before Christmas
is still hanging on but i am doing all i can to get rid of it.
I finally got the energy to use my new Big Shot.
I made this Thank-you card below with it.
I used various embossing folders.
I don't want to cut into those brand new, so clean looking
plates but i know i will, lol. It's like when you open a new
Versamark ink pad you want it to stay clean or
is that the neat freak in me coming out.

I made this card before Christmas.
Anytime is not a nice time to make a Sympathy card
but right on Christmas is the worst.
