Baby Shower Cupcakes

It was an afternoon filled with great weather,
games, great company and lots of presents.
It's always nice to be in the excitement of waiting
for a new little baby to come.
The mum to be will surely sleep well tonight.

The cupcakes and cake topper i made for my friends
baby shower.

The cakes staying cool until i had to leave.

Easter Boxes

April is a huge month for us with birthdays.
We have our daughter's 18th, huge organizing going on for that,
our nephews 16th a day before our daughters, our niece's and my
dad's birthday, plus we have Easter thrown in.
I am also going to my dearest friends baby shower, looking
forward to that this afternoon and i have just finished baking
and icing 48 cupcakes for this afternoon. They have turned
out really cool, i will post some photos.
I have made some Easter craft. I can share the empty boxes
and i will share them when they are full of chocolates.
I am not one for much shopping, well not so much anymore,
but boy i am glad K-Mart has longer trading hours because i am
going to need them this month.

I have been working on some card classes.
The photo below is a sneak peek of a male
Stamp a Stack class coming up soon.
I have some great ideas to share with you.
( This class is now full, i can run this class again on a different
date if i get more interest).

Simplicity in Mind

I made this card with simplicity in mind and then i started
adding this and that but stopped myself getting carried
away because the sentiment was the main point for this card.
I do like the way it turned out though.
I embossed a separate piece of Baja Breeze and added
it to the bottom of the card, just for extra strength.

Flamingo Card

I made this card for a family friend who loves
Flamingos. I have had this die cut sitting around forever
waiting to be used for this occasion.
It is a large card as the bird is 16cm in height.
It came together quickly as there wasn't much stamping involved.

Imagine A Journey

Here is a card of mine that has been chosen for the
Readers Gallery of this month's Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine.
Vol 18 No 3.
I made this card around twelve months ago and i am really pleased
how it turned out. I love the distressed and torn edges.
It's always a really nice feeling to see one of your cards
in your favourite magazine.

Old is So New

Last month we were on one of our travels and i fell in love
with this heavy timber case. The locks are in great order
and it has a fabulous Bakelite handle.
I had to have it, as i knew i could clean it up and it would
be fantastic storage for my stamps. It was a great buy and as
i was walking away i was approached buy another shopper
who offered me double on the spot for it but i already had in mind where
it would go and what i would do with it, so it came home with me.
After a clean and a wipe down with dettol i got to work.
I dry brushed, very lightly the outside so the original colour can still be seen.
I had some spectacular Graphic 45 paper so i cut it up and
randomly placed it over the top, like decoupage.
I then covered the whole top in a clear, semi-gloss finish to protect the paper.
The inside of the lid has a great extra cut out part for even more storage.

Stamps & Inks

I like to layer and embellish but sometimes simple
is just as nice. I needed some cards for mass production
and i wanted them nice but simple as i had to make a few.
I simply used the scoring tool on my paper trimmer to score
two lines at the bottom of this card. I inked up the butterflies
in So Saffron and dabbed colours onto them.

I made only one of these cards but followed close to the card above.
Directly stamping onto Whisper White card stock.

Vintage Look

This card is a CASE from various different cards i have seen.
It helps to have a layout in mind it makes the card come together
more quickly. It still amazes me that i can spend just as long
making a card as i do putting together a scrapbook page.

A Top Note Birthday

I usually ink all my edges of card stock and paper.
So when i received my free packet of paper
from Stampin Up's sale-a-bration i was
over the moon as all the edges are already shaded.
It is also not hard to match the shading with some
Crumb Cake ink if you need to ink up
other parts of the paper.

Any Colour Really

My daughter asked me to make another 18th
birthday card. I was told that her friend liked "blue and
red or pink and maybe purple". So i consulted
the SU colour coach and came up with marina mist,
rose red and perfect plum.
Thank goodness for this little tool, it takes all the
hard work out of colour matching.
I layered two butterflies with a dimensional in between
 just to add some depth.

Rainy Day Cakes

The kids bought me this cool cupcake cooker for my birthday.
This morning i made a batch for afternoon tea.
On a rainy day chocolate was on the menu.
The cool thing as well as making cupcakes i can make muffins
and savoury muffins as well.
It will be great in winter for an after school treat.
I have a card to share below the photos of the yummy treats.

A Card and an Angel

I have another birthday card to share with you
and a gift. I caught up with Gemma for coffee
and she surprised me with a lovely card and
a gift bag of presents. The card is using
stamps and paper from Stampin Up.
She gave me the delicate angel and
a stunning picture frame.
I have felt very loved this last week.
The phrase on the angel reads;
Friends forever,
for all you say and do
know that i will always
be there for you too.
